Please note, all services require customers to create a personal online access account before attempting to apply for a permit, pay fees, or check status. Log into our CSS PORTAL  to create an account if you do not have an existing account.

ONLINE PERMITS: Certain selected permit types can be obtained from our CSS Portal. Click here to see the list of our online permits. For other permits that need to be reviewed prior to permit issuance, apply as detailed below:

REVISIONS: To submit a revision, a fire asbuilt, or a deferred submittal to an on-going project, please use this REVISION SUBMITTAL LINK. 

CORRECTION SUBMITTALS: Log into your CSS account and follow directions to upload your corrections directly to your application. Be sure to upload to the correct application # if you have more than one on-going review.

Welcome to the City of North Las Vegas Building Safety & Fire Prevention Division. This Division performs plan review, issues permits, performs inspections and code enforcement for conformity to the City of North Las Vegas Municipal Codes and current adopted construction codes.

The Building Safety & Fire Prevention Division strives to provide the highest customer service by creating innovative processes to accommodate the services needed during our hours of operation, and by providing the appropriate contact numbers to assist in those services.

• REQUESTS FOR EXPEDITE PLAN REVIEW ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED.  DUE TO THE CURRENT WORKING ENVIRONMENT WE ARE OPERATING UNDER, WE CAN NO LONGER GUARANTEE THE NORMAL TURN-AROUND TIME FOR INITIAL REVIEW AND/OR SUBSEQUENT REVIEWS OR REVISIONS.  EXPEDITE REVIEW FEES WILL REMAIN THE SAME. STAFF AND OUR THIRD PARTY AGENCIES ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO EXPEDITE YOUR REVIEWS.  YOU ARE ACCEPTING THESE CONDITIONS AS PART OF YOUR EXPEDITE REQUESTS.

All fees shall be paid using the Citizen Self-Service (CSS) portal via credit card, checks mailed to the City will also be accepted.

Permits will be issued electronically, as well as Certificates of Occupancies and Temporary Certificates of Occupancy.

For Certificates of Occupancy; send request to buildingsafetyinquiries@cityofnorthlasvegas.com. For Temporary Certificates to Occupy; fill out the application online and send to same email address.

For new Single-Family construction, your permit will become the Certificate of Occupancy upon receiving an approved final building inspection. You will need to print a copy of the permit for your records.

Inspections can be requested using the Citizen Self-Service (CSS) portal. All the following scopes will be performed via video means. Your inspector will confirm the method of video prior to the inspection.
